Boys and girls pool their wisdom for general knowledge quiz

Quick-thinking boys and girls united to compete in the area heats of a general knowledge quiz championships.

Pupils from The Grange and Inglefield House joined forces to answer questions on a range of topics including science, geography, Disney cartoons, current affairs and music.

Hosted at Monmouth School’s Hitchcock Pavilion this morning, The Grange A team, formed of four boys across Years 3 to 6, were the victors.

Habs Monmouth 1 and Habs Monmouth 2, both made up of two Inglefield girls and two Grange boys, came second and third respectively.

Mr Neil Shaw, Head of The Grange, said: “It was really wonderful to see the boys and girls pooling their knowledge to achieve impressive high scores in the opening round of Quiz Club’s contest.

“Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, pupils and staff from both schools who came along to support the competitors.”

The winning team will now go on to the South West Regional Semi-Finals, which may also feature Habs Monmouth 1, thanks to their high score.
