It may only be the beginning of January but on the first day back to school after the Christmas break boys were greeted by many daffodils in full bloom at The Grange, Monmouth Preparatory School, after an unusually warm winter. The boys have planted over 2000 daffodils around the school grounds so they are hoping that some will keep back until after the frosts.
Usually the concern is that there will not be daffodils out in time for St David’s Day. This year the boys are already enjoying the shades of yellow in what is traditionally a dull and gloomy month, while at the back of their minds hoping that there will still be enough daffodils blooming for 1st March!
