Music

Performing experience is delivered across each of the three weekly lessons.  Composing and Listening and Appraisal are delivered to the boys in the classroom lessons (as opposed to the ‘class orchestra lessons’) in years 4, 5 and 6 (Preps 2, 3 and 4).  Boys in Prep 1 (Year 3) do not compose.  The emphasis in the classroom is on pupils enjoying their music, and to this end every boy is offered the opportunity to play an instrument in the classroom (whether or not he has individual tuition outside it) and to sing.
