Fusion Percussion Ensemble, one of whose members is Mr. Alun Hathaway, a percussion teacher at The Grange, gave an interactive and innovative performance and workshop to Prep III and Prep IV boys.
The core of the quartet’s work was centred on educational presentation with a strong focus on participation by the boys.
The group also demonstrated the principal of sound and vibration, through moving in between the audience while playing large orchestral tam-tams. Ten boys took part in a small samba rhythm band.

Sam, who took part in the salsa rhythm performance said, ’There was a funny moment when, for a second, I looked up from the cowbell I was playing. The boys in the audience were clapping and dancing in harmony.’
William also said, ‘The originality of the performance let us enjoy it even more, as the group also played some music from the Simpsons, Harry Potter, James Bond and other familiar tunes.’
