Two of Haberdashers’ Monmouth School’s exceptional young musicians, Eleanor and Miles from Year 13, represented our school with finesse at the prestigious annual Haberdashers’ Musician of the Year competition in London.

Each year, young musicians from each of the Haberdashers’ Schools come together to showcase the musical talent nurtured at their schools, and for a little healthy competition!

The event, held at Habs Hall in London, witnessed Eleanor’s mesmerising violin performance of “Aus der Heimat” by Smetana, and Miles performed “June” from The Seasons by Tchaikovsky on the flute, showcasing his artistry.

Eleanor and Miles, pictured alongside world-renowned conductor and alumna of the school, Dame Jane Glover, and Mr. Derek Harris Director of Music, received accolades for their outstanding performances. Mr. Harris commended the music displayed throughout the evening, noting that both pupils delivered exceptionally musical and moving performances.
