Prep I have been enjoying the theme of collage in their art lessons since the start of term. They have spent time analysing the work of artist, Beth Hoeckel, and were inspired to recreate work in the syle of her pictures. She combines everyday images with interesting backgrounds and space is a recurring theme in her work. The boys in Prep I chose some space related backgrounds and worked in small groups to pose for photographs. They then cut carefully around the photographs of themselves and experimented with placing the images on the background for effect.
