Service of Lessons and Carols

December 11, 2014

Service of Lessons and CarolsThe Grange Service of Lessons and Carols was a wonderful way to round off the year. Preparations had been taking place for many weeks with boys rehearsing carols, the Choir perfecting their harmonies and all boys reciting traditional Christmas readings. Well done to William in PI, Henry in PII, Sam in PIII and our Head Boy, William, for telling the Christmas story so beautifully. Delicious mince pies and warming mulled were greatly enjoyed after the service. Pictured are the Choir in rehearsal.

The boys of The Grange were delighted to be joined by talented trumpet player Sam Pierce (Monmouth School 2007 – 2013) in the performance of ‘The Angel Choir and The Trumpeter’ at their christmas carol service. Sam is studying on a scholarship at The Royal Academy of Music and wowed the boys and congregation with his brilliant sound on the piccolo trumpet. Sam and the boys performed the song again at St Nicholas Church, Trellech at The Monmouth Choral Society christmas concert.
