Last weekend the Grange teams did exceptionally well overall at the Welsh Chess Union Primary
Schools’ Championships in Merthyr Tydfil. The A team was one of eight teams in the main
championships where we came 3rd. There were twenty teams in the Plate section. Here our B team
came 2nd & our C team was 1st! Good luck to our Grange team that qualified for the finals of the U11
British Chess Championships to take place at Uppingham next week. Qualifying for this maintains our
position as one of the top prep schools in Britain for chess.
